The present book offeres an overview of the range of language and meanings commonly associated with the idea of hoping, wishing and envisaging the future or just picturing the present or the past in a different perspective. Hence, the research provides a lexico-grammatical approach, emphasizing the interdependence between grammar structures and the lexicon on the one hand and the speaker’s wishes, preferences, “moods and attitudes towards a possible state or action” on the other.
